Of baluster form, the body of the jar is painted in deep cobalt tones with a continuous garden scene featuring blossoming peonies, foliage, and birds, all rendered with expressive brushwork. The domed cover is similarly decorated with floral motifs and scrolling foliage, surmounted by a knop finial. The vivid blue decoration is set against a creamy white glaze, pooling slightly at the footrim to reveal the buff-colored body beneath.
