19th Century Qing Dynasty

Description

23 x 15 x 10 cm
(9 x 6 x 4 in)

Exquisitely crafted 19th century Qingbai porcelain dragon exemplifying the delicate and refined elegance characteristic of Qingbai ware. The dragon is depicted in a dynamic pose, its sinuous body coiled with finely sculpted details, including spiny protrusions along its back and fierce facial features. The glaze, with its subtle blue tint, enhances the fluidity of the form while evoking both power and grace, capturing the mythical dragon as a symbol of strength and good fortune. Possibly a Chinese scholar object used as paperweight or figurine for appreciation.
