Elegantly potted with flaring sides rising from a neatly finished foot, the exterior is vividly painted in deep cobalt tones with an imaginative design of a dragon or mythical creature and swirling waves or foliate, the motifs rendered with a dynamic, almost calligraphic brushwork. A border of upright lotus lappets encircles the base. The interior features a lotus bloom enclosed within double blue lines. The glaze is of a soft, slightly bluish tint and the base is inscribed with a single-character mark.
