Delicately potted with shallow rounded sides rising to a flared rim, the interior decorated in soft underglaze blue with a qilin or xiniu (mythical horned bovine) gazing upward at a crescent moon amid stylized clouds, all enclosed within double-line borders. The glaze has a characteristic pale bluish tinge. The rim is left unglazed, and the exterior remains undecorated, with the foot ring similarly exposed and the base fully glazed.
