Finely potted and supported on three lion-mask cabriole feet, this globular censer is painted in underglaze cobalt blue with alternating figural scenes of boys at play in garden settings, enclosed within shaped cartouches against a densely hatched diaper ground. The shoulder is decorated with floral roundels, while a band of upright lappets encircles the rim.
